OTA U16 Juniors Provincial Championship at UTC
The amazingly talented top boys and girls junior tennis players are back competing for the Provincial Championship at Unionville Tennis Club June 24-29, 2024.
Unionville Tennis Club will be proudly hosting the OTA Under 16 Boys and Girls Provincial Championship this summer. This is the premier outdoor Junior Championship for the year featuring the best under 16 juniors in the province. This event features our top young girls and boys tennis players that have excelled in their tennis already to just qualify to play at this Provincial Championship. We have hosted this event since 2018 and the Ontario Tennis Association has once again happily awarded UTC the tournament this year. This affords UTC the opportunity to support Junior tennis in Ontario while showcasing our great facilities and volunteers.
The tournament is June 24th to June 29, which is Monday through the finals on Saturday. Play is approximately 7:00am - 5:00pm each day but will finish early if the weather is good. They will be playing on the six hard courts only. All daytime programs are canceled this week for members. ICTA Team daytime matches are scheduled away at other clubs. After 5:00 PM normal events and online booking play will still take place.
The girls start their draw portion at another club on Monday and Tuesday and move to Unionville Tennis Club on Wednesday through Saturday to finish their tournament. The boys are at UTC all week. The draw will be 32 boys and 32 girls. They put on an amazing demonstration of skill and determination. The Ontario Tennis Association will be running and officiating the tournament.
Spectators are welcome to come out to enjoy what promises to be amazing and entertaining tennis. Saturday will feature the finals and consolations in boys and girls singles and doubles. Presentation of awards will occur as the final matches are completed.

Please also note that there will no public court hours on Tuesday June 25th.
