General Rules

  • Club rule of thumb

3 courts are available for random play with few exceptions.

  • Adult priority times

Adults have priority Monday to Friday, 6pm - 11pm. Juniors are unable to book courts on the online booking system during these times. If a junior member wishes to play with an adult member during this time, the adult member will have to book the court online and add the junior member to the booking.

  • Public hours

UTC is a community tennis club, and we welcome those in the community to come out and enjoy our courts. Public hours are back with new days and times:

    1. Tuesdays 12pm - 4pm on courts 1-4

    2. Saturday 6pm - 10pm on courts 1 & 2

Please note: public hours are not in effect for the month of April and early May 2023 while the clubhouse is not monitored.

  • Court Booking Rules

Updated Booking Rules as of April 1st, 2024

    1. Court booking is open 6 days in advance at 12pm. For example, you can book a court for the following Sunday, at 12pm the Monday before. During regular season we allow members to have 2 active booking , but it will be monitored and adjusted based on courts availability in different time of the season.

    2. Only members who have booked online will be permitted on the courts (outside of public hours and whiteboard booking hours). Singles & Doubles play only - no guests allowed until further notice.

    3. Court time is limited to 1 hour for singles and 2 hours for doubles. Four (4) members names are required for doubles bookings and at least two (2) members names are required for singles bookings. Members must vacate the court immediately after their booked time if others are waiting to play.

    4. Adults priority play time is Monday to Friday 6pm - 11pm. Juniors are unable to book a court after 6 pm during the week, however, can play with an adult.

    5. Court cancellations are required 24 hrs before the booked time. Reservations cancelled within 24 hours of the reserved court time and no-shows (when any person on the court booking has NOT shown up for a court reservation) will incur a penalty. After 2 penalties, court booking privileges will be withheld for 7 days. During this penalty period, the member will not be able to book any courts on our booking system.

The UTC board reserves the right to issue penalties to members for any conduct that is considered misuse.

    6. Rain-out courts or wet courts do not need to be cancelled and will not result in any penalty. The court bookings will be cancelled as soon as the monitor sees that the courts are not playable. For light drizzle and intermittent rain, please call the clubhouse((905)470-7059) for further information. Clay courts may be unusable for longer periods of time, depending on the severity of the rainfall.

    7. The club reserves the right to move bookings to any other court or cancel the court if necessary to accommodate club programming. Members will be notified should this occur. This does not take place often and we do our best to provide other options and accommodate players if it does happen.
